How to add AIOStreams to Nuvio

Nuvio uses Stremio addons, so AIOStreams works in it with the same install link you'd use in Stremio. You build your configuration on AIOStreams' configure page, copy one link, and paste it into Nuvio. If you already use AIOStreams in Stremio, you can skip straight to step 3 with your existing link.

Before you start

  • Nuvio installed on your phone, tablet or TV. The Nuvio wiki has install guides for every platform.
  • A debrid service, or a Usenet service AIOStreams can stream through, such as TorBox, Easynews or your own NzbDAV. Our free public instance returns debrid and Usenet streams only.
  • A password you don't use anywhere else for your AIOStreams configuration.

Step 1: Set up AIOStreams

Open aiostreams.elfhosted.com/stremio/configure, ElfHosted's free public instance, and choose Start setup, or Browse setups for a ready-made one. Then:

  1. Under Services, add your debrid service, or the service you stream Usenet through.
  2. Under Addons, add two or three source addons from the Marketplace.
  3. Under Filters, set a preferred resolution and your languages.
  4. Under Formatter, pick how each stream reads (see formatters for Nuvio below).

The AIOStreams setup guide covers each of these in more depth.

Open Save & Install, choose a password, and select Create. Note down the UUID and password: you need both to edit the configuration later, and the password can't be reset.

Then use Copy install link. That's your manifest URL. It ends in manifest.json, and anyone with it can use your setup, so keep it to yourself.

Step 3: Add it to Nuvio

  1. In Nuvio, open Settings, then Addons.
  2. Choose Add Addon.
  3. Paste the link into Addon URL, and choose Install Addon.

Open any film or episode, and AIOStreams' results appear in the stream list.

AIOStreams goes under Addons, not Plugins. Plugins are Nuvio's own, separate system, and pasting an addon link there fails with an error. Plugins vs addons explains the difference.

Which formatter reads best in Nuvio?

Nuvio shows each stream as a few lines of text, and AIOStreams' formatter decides what they say. Two work well:

  • Prism fits resolution, size, source, language and codec into five lines. Good on a phone.
  • Minimalistic shows only the essentials. Easier to read across a room on a TV.

Swapping formatter needs no reinstall. Change it under Formatter, save, and reopen the title in Nuvio.

Real-Debrid, TorBox and Usenet in Nuvio

Nuvio connects to some services itself and leaves the rest to addons:

Service In Nuvio directly Through AIOStreams
TorBox Yes Yes
Premiumize Yes Yes
Real-Debrid No Yes
Other debrid services No Yes
Usenet No Yes

Through AIOStreams, every service you add under Services is checked for each search, and the results arrive in Nuvio as one list. That's how Real-Debrid and Usenet reach Nuvio at all. Providers and bundles compares the services.

Add AIOMetadata alongside it

Set up as above, AIOStreams finds streams and leaves what you browse to Nuvio. For proper catalogues, posters and descriptions, add AIOMetadata, also free, and move it to the top of Nuvio's addon list so artwork and details load from it. If you've already added AIOMetadata inside AIOStreams, as some templates do, you don't need it twice. The Nuvio addons guide has the rest of a good starting set.

Why is AIOStreams not working in Nuvio?

Work down this list:

  1. Is the instance up? Open its manifest in a browser, for example aiostreams.elfhosted.com/stremio/manifest.json. Text means it's up. ElfHosted's instances also report on status.elfhosted.com.
  2. Does it work in Stremio? If it does, the configuration's fine. Remove AIOStreams in Nuvio and add the install link again.
  3. Did you add it as a plugin? It's an addon: Settings, Addons, Add Addon.
  4. Is your service account OK? An expired debrid subscription returns nothing. Check it on the provider's own site.
  5. Are your filters too strict? A Required Resolution hides every stream at other resolutions.

Your own AIOStreams for Nuvio

Our public instance is free and shared: features are set for everyone on it, and every device on your home connection shares one search allowance. That suits a lot of people. A private ElfHosted AIOStreams instance is yours alone, with ten times the public allowance and TorBox and Usenet accounts bundled, so Usenet works in Nuvio without a provider of your own.

If you'd also like your Nuvio profiles, library and watch progress kept on your own server rather than someone else's, Mellon is a sync backend for Nuvio that runs on your ElfHosted account. See your own Nuvio sync server.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add AIOStreams to Nuvio?

Set up AIOStreams on its configure page, choose a password and select Create on Save & Install, then use Copy install link. In Nuvio, open Settings, Addons, Add Addon, paste the link into Addon URL and choose Install Addon.

Does AIOStreams work with Nuvio?

Yes. Nuvio uses Stremio addons, and AIOStreams lists Nuvio as a compatible app. The same link works in Nuvio and Stremio at once.

Can I use Real-Debrid with Nuvio?

Yes, through an addon. Nuvio connects to TorBox and Premiumize itself, not Real-Debrid. Add Real-Debrid under Services in AIOStreams and its streams show up in Nuvio.

Can Nuvio stream from Usenet with AIOStreams?

Yes. Nuvio has no Usenet support of its own, so it comes through AIOStreams, using a Usenet service such as TorBox, Easynews or your own NzbDAV. A private ElfHosted AIOStreams has TorBox and Usenet accounts bundled.

Which AIOStreams formatter is best for Nuvio?

One that's easy to scan. Prism fits every detail into five lines, and Minimalistic shows only the essentials, which suits a TV.

Why is AIOStreams not working in Nuvio?

Check the instance is up by opening its manifest in a browser. If it is and Stremio works, remove AIOStreams in Nuvio and add the link again. Adding it under Plugins instead of Addons also fails.

Do I need AIOMetadata as well as AIOStreams?

It's optional, and most setups use both. AIOStreams finds streams; AIOMetadata supplies catalogues, posters and descriptions. Put AIOMetadata at the top of the addon list. If your AIOStreams configuration already includes AIOMetadata, as some templates do, you don't need it separately.
