Watch your debrid library in Infuse, Jellyfin or Plex apps, without a server

Updated

Short answer

Use a hosted server and an app you already have. JellyStreams, which comes with the AIOMagic Bundle, serves your library over the Jellyfin protocol, so Infuse, Swiftfin, Odin and the official Jellyfin apps browse and play it on every TV, phone and tablet, with a profile per person. The bundle includes AIOStreams, bundled TorBox and Usenet accounts, Debridge, AIOMetadata and PostersPlus, and you can add your own debrid accounts too.

  • Only want Stremio? AIOStreams is the addon on its own.
  • Want the Plex apps, with exactly the files in your debrid account? Rex shows them as a server in the Plex apps, with Zurg included.

Why do you need a server at all?

A debrid account is a place your files live, not a library. It has no posters, no seasons, no Continue Watching and no idea who in the house is watching. Something has to turn it into a library, and a TV app has to be able to talk to that something.

There are two ways to do that. An app can do it on the device, the way the Stremio app does with addons. Or a server can do it once, and every app that speaks the server's protocol gets the same library. The server route is what puts it in Infuse, Swiftfin or the Plex apps, and it's what lets watch history follow a person from the phone to the TV. Running the server is the part people don't want to do, so that's the part we do.

JellyStreams, for Infuse and every Jellyfin app

JellyStreams is a Jellyfin server whose library is your AIOStreams configuration. Add its URL as a server in Infuse or Swiftfin, sign in, and your catalogues are there with posters and search. It never transcodes: it hands the player the stream, and Infuse and Swiftfin play HEVC, 4K and the common audio formats without complaint.

It's built for a household. Each person gets their own profile, and because watch history is kept on the server, you can start a film on your phone in Infuse and finish it on the TV in Swiftfin. Kids' profiles get a library filtered by certification, limits by what's actually in a title, and a daily screen-time cap. When something's blocked, they can ask, and the request arrives as a push notification on your phone.

We build JellyStreams, and it runs on ElfHosted or nowhere. It isn't sold separately: it comes with the AIOMagic Bundle, or with the Stremio Addons Bundle if you want our whole addon catalogue. The full comparison with Remux, Polyfin and the Gelato plugin is in Stremio addons in Jellyfin.

AIOStreams, if you're happy in the Stremio app

If everyone watches in the Stremio app and the devices you care about have it, AIOStreams on its own is the simplest choice. It brings your sources together in one addon and comes with bundled TorBox and Usenet accounts. What it can't do is reach devices with no Stremio app, chiefly Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Roku, or keep a separate history per person. That's the gap JellyStreams fills; see Stremio on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.

Rex, if you want the Plex apps

Rex shows your debrid library to the Plex apps as a normal server, with Movies and TV Shows libraries, posters, Continue Watching and watched marks. It owns no files: Zurg reads your debrid accounts and tells Rex what's there, and when you press play, the file streams from your provider. On ElfHosted, Zurg comes with it, so you bring your debrid accounts and a free Plex account.

Rex is the one to pick when you want exactly what's in your account, curated by you, in the Plex apps the household already uses. It also comes with Rex Stremio, which turns your Stremio addons' catalogues into more Rex libraries. It plays the original file with no conversion, so pick Original quality in the Plex app. Rex isn't made by Plex; it's built by the developer of Zurg and Debrid Media Manager, and we run it with their permission.

TorBox plays straight from TorBox. Real-Debrid still works, and plays through ElfHosted, so your account is only ever seen from one address.

Doing it yourself

All of this can be run on your own hardware: Zurg and a media server on a machine at home, or an addon server on a cloud VM. It works. It also leaves you owning the machine, its updates, its certificates and its uptime, and none of it gives you JellyStreams' household layer, which only runs here.

Which should I pick?

  • A library on every screen, for the whole household: AIOMagic, for JellyStreams.
  • Just Stremio, on devices that have it: AIOStreams.
  • The Plex apps, with exactly the files in your debrid account: Rex.

Frequently asked questions

How do I watch my debrid account in Infuse?

Add JellyStreams as a Jellyfin server in Infuse. It comes with the AIOMagic Bundle and serves your AIOStreams library, including your own debrid accounts if you add them, over the Jellyfin protocol. Infuse then browses and plays it like any Jellyfin library, with no server for you to run.

Can I get a library from my debrid account without running a server?

Yes, because we run the server. JellyStreams gives you a browsable library in any Jellyfin app. Rex gives you a library of exactly the files in your debrid account in the Plex apps, with Zurg included.

How do I share my debrid streams with my family on their TVs?

Use a server that has users. JellyStreams gives everyone their own profile and watch history in the Jellyfin app on their own TV, with kids' libraries filtered by certification and daily screen-time caps. Rex is a Plex server, so you share it with family the way you share any Plex server.

Do I need my own debrid account?

Not for the AIOMagic Bundle, which includes bundled TorBox and Usenet accounts, and you can add your own provider accounts too. Rex reads your own debrid accounts through Zurg, so you bring those.

Does ElfHosted provide the content?

No. ElfHosted hosts the apps. What plays comes from your own provider accounts and the sources you configure, and you're responsible for using them lawfully.
