stremio-jackett was a Stremio addon that bridged Jackett indexers and Real-Debrid, so you could search your own indexers from Stremio and stream debrid-cached results. It's been retired from the ElfHosted catalog in favour of a stronger generation of Stremio addons.

What we offer instead

The three Stremio addons we currently recommend, all open-source and available as managed instances on ElfHosted, all supporting Jackett as a custom indexer source. Listed in order of how easy that Jackett integration is to set up:

Comet: easiest Jackett integration

Smaller, faster, focused. Comet's Jackett integration is the simplest of the three and is the closest functional match to what stremio-jackett did, with substantially less configuration. Comet also includes built-in proxy streaming, which the older stremio-jackett architecture couldn't offer.

AIOStreams: moderate Jackett integration

A meta-addon that queries multiple underlying addons in parallel, deduplicates results, and hands Stremio one consolidated, filterable list. AIOStreams supports Jackett with moderate setup effort, and its aggregation features tend to be useful even when you have your own indexers configured.

MediaFusion: deepest (and hardest) Jackett setup

The deepest configurability and the strongest regional content coverage. MediaFusion's Jackett integration is the most powerful of the three but also the hardest to set up. Reach for it if you specifically need its filtering depth or regional coverage.

Still need Jackett-sourced results?

Jackett itself is still available as an ElfHosted app and pairs with all three modern Stremio addons. If you have specific indexer requirements (private trackers, regional indexers, custom configurations) that public scrapers don't cover:

  • Comet + Jackett is the simplest setup, and the closest functional match to what stremio-jackett did
  • AIOStreams + Jackett gives you Jackett-sourced results plus AIOStreams' broader meta-addon aggregation, with moderate setup complexity
  • MediaFusion + Jackett is the most configurable but the hardest to set up

For most users, the public scrapers aggregated by AIOStreams give better coverage with less configuration than running your own indexers.

Why we retired stremio-jackett

The upstream addon's development pace fell behind its peers, the architecture didn't support proxy streaming (which lets a debrid account work from multiple locations simultaneously without IP bans), and AIOStreams / MediaFusion / Comet now cover the same use cases with better tooling. Consolidating on those three gave us a stronger Stremio stack without reducing user functionality.

The upstream stremio-jackett project remains available at github.com/aymene69/stremio-jackett for users who prefer to run it themselves outside of ElfHosted.
